SECURITY...

I passed a sign one day while driving that read:

SECURITY
Structuring my life around that which cannot be destroyed or taken away

First reaction...Security? As an action word?...WOW!!!
After much thought...Of COURSE it's an action word...My growing relationship with God is very much like this definition, and I want it to be INCREASINGLY so. I can think back to the many things God did for me (e.g. a full ride scholarship to Langston without applying for it!?!?) BEFORE I even made a decision to serve Him. Truth be told, I wasn't even thinking about God. And God STILL cared for me...One of my favorite verses of scripture is Romans 8:38-39:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
It didn't matter that I did not yet understand or appreciate God...All the more reason to serve, love and structure my life around Someone indestructible and ever-present. God's "security" sheltered me and kept me from coming apart when I lost my husband last year. When you look at me and "admire" me for my strength, remember that what you actually see is security, the action word.
